DRIVN has announced a strategic partnership with JBM Electric Vehicles to deploy 500 electric buses across India over the next year, marking a significant step toward accelerating the country’s electric mobility transition. The rollout will begin with luxury intercity electric coaches for fleet operators and is expected to expand into other public and commercial transportation segments.
Under the partnership, JBM Electric Vehicles will leverage its expertise in manufacturing electric buses, while DRIVN will provide leasing and financing solutions designed to reduce the financial burden on fleet operators. The collaboration aims to make electric bus adoption more accessible by offering long-term leasing options along with maintenance and charging infrastructure, eliminating the need for large upfront capital investments.
The companies said the integrated business model is intended to help transport operators transition to electric mobility more efficiently while improving fleet reliability and lowering operating costs. By combining vehicle manufacturing with financing and after-sales support, the partnership seeks to address some of the key barriers to EV adoption in the commercial transportation sector.
The deployment will initially focus on luxury intercity coaches, a segment witnessing increasing demand for sustainable and comfortable long-distance travel. Following the first phase, DRIVN and JBM Electric Vehicles plan to explore additional opportunities in school transportation, employee mobility, and airport transit services, broadening the scope of electric mobility solutions across India.
According to the companies, India’s electric bus market is expected to reach USD 2.43 billion by 2030, driven by government initiatives, growing environmental awareness, and rising demand for zero-emission public transport. The partnership is positioned to support this expected market growth by offering scalable electric bus deployment and financing models.
The announcement also highlighted the leadership behind the collaboration, acknowledging Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles, along with Manav B. and Alpna Jain from DRIVN for their role in establishing the strategic partnership.
JBM Electric Vehicles is one of India’s leading electric bus manufacturers, supplying electric mobility solutions for public transport and commercial fleet operators. DRIVN, meanwhile, focuses on leasing and financing solutions that help businesses adopt electric vehicles through flexible ownership models and supporting infrastructure.
With the planned deployment of 500 electric buses and a comprehensive leasing ecosystem, the partnership is expected to contribute to the expansion of India’s electric public transportation network while enabling fleet operators to adopt cleaner mobility solutions without significant upfront investment.
