An agreement was announced between FERA Australia, a committed Australian renewable energy developer, and Envision Energy, a world leader in intelligent renewable energy solutions, to work together on the execution of large-scale hybrid renewable energy projects throughout Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM).
The deal, which was inked at the Australia Energy Wind Conference in Melbourne, is the first of its type in Australia and creates a framework for projects that might provide up to 1.5 GWh of battery energy storage and 1 GW of wind production capacity. This milestone shows increasing trust in Envision’s integrated technological platform, which includes grid-forming power conversion systems (PCS), next-generation containerized storage systems, innovative wind turbines, and the company’s in-house Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC).
“This collaboration represents a major step forward in demonstrating how hybrid wind and storage solutions can unlock new possibilities for Australia’s energy future,” stated Kane Xu, SVP and President of International Product Line of Envision Energy. “We are honored by the trust FERA Australia has placed in our technical capabilities across wind, storage, and grid integration, and we look forward to delivering projects that set new benchmarks for clean, flexible power.”
“Partnering with Envision Energy marks an exciting milestone in our pursuit of large-scale renewable projects in Australia. Integrating wind power and energy storage in a hybrid project, will constitute an excellent model for future initiatives.” stated Sebastiano Falesi, Head of FERA Australia and Member of the Board of Directors of the FERA Group. “The rapid advancement of renewable energy projects is crucial for supporting Australia’s transition to zero-carbon energy. Envision’s cutting-edge technology and deep global expertise assure us that we have a reliable partner capable of helping us achieve new standards in performance and reliability.”
The collaboration will begin with a pilot project in Victoria that will include sophisticated HPPC technology, grid-forming battery storage, and Envision’s complete converter wind turbine in a grid-connected hybrid plant. In addition to showcasing Envision’s strong commitment to the Australian market and a common goal of setting new standards in renewable energy innovation, this project will highlight how hybrid systems may improve grid dependability and open up new value streams.
Together, FERA’s local development experience and Envision’s established international reputation will help hasten Australia’s shift to a sustainable energy system.
