Tonja L. Wicks was appointed Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs by esVolta, LP. Tonja L. Wickswill be in charge of esVolta’s regulatory and policy teams at the federal, state, and local levels. She will play a crucial role in facilitating access to sustainable energy storage and improving grid reliability, resource adequacy, and energy affordability for communities across our country by lobbying lawmakers in favor of laws and market regulations that permit the advantageous deployment of energy storage.
As the need for electricity increases due to the retirement of thermal generation resources, the rapid expansion of data centers, and the electrification of industries, Tonja L. Wicks will also leverage esVolta’s industry partnerships to promote energy storage on Capitol Hill as part of the “all of the above” energy strategy that supports esVolta’s mission to help maintain our national security, economic competitiveness, energy independence, and digital leadership.

Tonja L. Wicks, who most recently served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for battery energy storage firm Elevate Renewables, offers 20 years of expertise, leadership, and vision to the utility, IPP, and renewable energy sectors.
Tonja graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, with a BA in Political Science, an MA in Public Policy, and an MBA from American University. Her home is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
