GK Energy Wins rs454.5 Crore Rooftop Solar Order

GK Energy has secured a major rooftop solar project valued at approximately ₹454.50 crore, including GST, strengthening its position in India’s rapidly expanding distributed renewable energy market.

The company announced that it has received a Letter of Empanelment (LOE) from a leading State Government-owned power distribution utility for the implementation of Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Projects.

Under the latest empanelment, GK Energy has been allocated a total rooftop solar capacity of 100 MW. The project will involve the installation of 1 kW rooftop solar systems across approximately 1 lakh households. The large-scale residential deployment is expected to contribute to the wider adoption of decentralized solar power and support efforts to increase renewable energy generation at the consumer level.

GK Energy will be responsible for the complete execution of the project. Its scope will include design and engineering, procurement and supply of equipment, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar PV systems. In addition, the company will provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for five years following commissioning.

The project is expected to be executed on an accelerated timeline, with installations required to be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the respective work orders.

The latest order also adds significantly to GK Energy’s growing project pipeline. According to the company, it has secured allocations and empanelments worth more than ₹1,092 crore, including GST, since April 1, 2026.

The development comes as India continues to expand rooftop solar deployment among residential consumers. Government-backed programs and initiatives aimed at increasing household-level solar adoption have created growing opportunities for companies involved in rooftop PV installation, system integration and long-term maintenance.

For GK Energy, the latest contract further expands its presence in the residential rooftop solar segment while adding substantial execution volume to its order pipeline. The 100 MW project will require the deployment of solar systems across a large number of individual households, making project execution, supply-chain coordination and timely commissioning critical to meeting the stipulated schedule.

With the new empanelment, GK Energy is positioned to play a larger role in the rollout of distributed solar infrastructure while continuing to build its business through government and utility-led renewable energy projects.
