In their nationwide EV charging partnership, General Motors (GM), Pilot Company, and EVgo Inc. have achieved a significant milestone. Fast-charging stations have now been installed at more than 130 locations in 25 states due to the agreement, giving EV drivers traveling long distances more convenience.

Long travels are becoming easier for owners of electric vehicles because to the network’s expansion, which is connecting important highway circuits as EV adoption continues to grow. I-75 between Michigan and Georgia, as well as regional highways like Minneapolis to Milwaukee, Detroit to Cleveland, and San Antonio to Houston, are among the important routes that will benefit from the program.

EV drivers may recharge in as little as 15 minutes when outfitted with EVgo’s high-power chargers, which can offer up to 350 kW. Additionally, the network includes Plug-and-Charge technology, which enables eligible GM vehicles to automatically start and pay for charging sessions as they plug in. Mobile apps for GM vehicles provide access to this smooth experience.

As EV adoption picks up speed, there is an increasing need for such infrastructure. Sales of EVs in the US reached 1.3 million in 2024, with GM seeing a 50% increase in sales in just the fourth quarter. GM, Pilot, and EVgo are dedicated to increasing their network and making sure that EV drivers have dependable access to fast charging across the country in order to satisfy this rising demand.

By increasing the accessibility and ease of EV road trips, GM, Pilot, and EVgo are securing their place in the future of electric mobility as the charging network grows.
