At the Bio Innovations APAC 2026 conference in Singapore on March 4 and 5, Godavari Biorefineries Ltd talked about its integrated bio-manufacturing approach. As part of talks about sustainable bio-economy pathways in the Asia-Pacific region, the company showed off its “soil-to-bio-products” framework.
Keynote and Fireside Discussion
Dr Sangeeta Srivastava, representing Godavari Biorefineries, delivered a keynote address and participated in a fireside session titled “From the Soil to Valuable Bio-Chemicals and Bio-Products.” The discussion focused on how agricultural resources, biotechnology, and industrial processes can be combined to create scalable alternatives to fossil-derived chemicals.
Integrated Biorefinery Model
Godavari Biorefineries operates a vertically integrated biorefinery, converting agricultural feedstocks into diverse bio-based products such as food ingredients, biofuels, and specialty chemicals. These products serve sectors including cosmetics, skincare, agrochemicals, adhesives, and coatings. By linking farming ecosystems with advanced biotechnology, the company develops production methods that support the shift toward renewable carbon sources.
Sustainability Across the Value Chain
During her keynote, Dr Sangeeta Srivastava, representing Godavari Biorefineries emphasized the importance of sustainability at every stage of production.
She stated, “Decarbonizing the chemicals sector requires a combination of technologies, operational improvements, and collaborative policy frameworks rather than a single technological breakthrough.”
She added that innovation must span feedstock development, production processes, energy efficiency, and regulatory systems.
She also noted, “Evaluating carbon at the source beginning with the field where biomass originates plays a critical role in designing sustainable industrial solutions.”
Dr Srivastava stressed the need to align ecological responsibility with economic feasibility, explaining that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles are integrated into the company’s biomass-based growth strategy.
Industry Collaboration and Future Outlook
The conference brought together policy makers, investors, manufacturers, and technology developers from all over the Asia-Pacific industrial biotechnology ecosystem. Along with keynote speeches, participants took part in focused meetings to encourage teamwork and partnerships.
Godavari Biorefineries’ participation highlights its commitment to advancing industrial biotechnology and sustainable manufacturing solutions. As industries worldwide accelerate the transition to renewable carbon systems, the company continues to develop integrated approaches connecting agriculture, scientific innovation, and industrial production at scale.
