In order to install battery switching facilities at more than 22,000 HPCL retail locations around India, Hindustan Petroleum and Mooving have partnered. Mooving is a SAR Group brand and a smart switching network powered by Livguard.

The company’s dedication to domestic, Made in India technology was a major consideration in HPCL’s choice to work with Mooving. HPCL chose Mooving for this relationship following several rounds of deliberation over their technical and delivery skills, according to Mooving.

More than 500 automated battery switching stations will be installed by Mooving and HPCL during the course of the upcoming year. These stations, which make use of Mooving’s fully automated, man-less technology, are anticipated to raise the bar for ease and effectiveness, improving customer satisfaction and differentiating the business from rivals, according to Mooving. According to the company, this deliberate rollout will expedite the adoption of electric transportation, greatly increase battery swapping services, and offer crucial support to EV users worldwide.

HPCL, which has more than 22,000 retail outlets across India, is committed to decarbonizing the mobility sector. The company has already installed more than 3,700 EV charging stations across India to minimize range anxiety of EV customers. This partnership allows Mooving to leverage HPCL’s extensive network and its innovative solutions to set a new benchmark for battery swapping, accelerating EV adoption, and supporting the growth of the green economy. An agreement towards this was signed by Mooving and HPCL, represented by Subhankar Dutta, General Manager, Retail Strategy and Business Development.

Pritesh Talwar, President, Lectrix EV and Mooving, stated that the collaboration with HPCL is a significant step towards transforming India’s EV infrastructure. By combining Mooving’s automated technology with HPCL’s extensive network, the partnership aims to set a new standard for battery swapping services. This major step will help create one of the largest automated battery-swapping networks in India, contributing to economic growth by creating new job opportunities and fostering innovation within the EV ecosystem.

This partnership will make owning an electric vehicle easier by offering Battery as a Service (BaaS) across the country, which takes care of battery costs, maintenance, and charging. By providing a seamless and efficient battery swapping experience, Mooving is driving forward the adoption of electric vehicles and reinforcing its role as a leader in the EV energy sector.
