Hyundai IONIQ 5 and 6 Named Top EV Picks by Cars.com for 2026

Hyundai’s acclaimed IONIQ electric vehicles received two 2026 Top EV Pick honors from Cars.com in their newly updated EV Buying Guide. As part of this year’s selections, the 2025 IONIQ 6 was named the Top EV Pick in the Electric Car category, while the 2025 IONIQ 5 was named the Top EV Pick in the Two-Row electric SUV category.

“Hyundai is setting the bar high for mainstream EVs. Efficiency is the name of the game for the IONIQ 6,” said Aaron Bragman, Detroit Bureau Chief, Cars.com. “With up to 342 miles of rangei, the ability to fast-charge in as little as 18 minutesii, sleek styling, a comfortable cabin and a sub-$40,000iii starting price, it’s one of the most well-rounded EVs available today — which is why it’s Cars.com’s Top Pick: Electric Car. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 5 makes you feel instantly at home behind the wheel thanks to excellent visibility, intuitive controls and a comfortable ride. It adds roomy cargo space, blazing-fast charging and practical touches like physical buttons for everyday comfort. That’s why it’s Cars.com’s Top Pick: 2-Row Electric SUV.”

The IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 received Top EV Pick honors in their respective categories for the second consecutive year, having been selected from a competitive lineup of electric vehicles across six categories – Two-Row SUV, Three-Row SUV, Car, Value, Luxury and Pickup Truck.

“We’re thrilled to have the IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 5 selected by Cars.com for a second consecutive year as their Top EV picks in the electric car and two-row SUV categories,” said Ricky Lao, director, product planning, Hyundai Motor North America. “Our team works hard to deliver best-in-class electric vehicles that bring together innovative design, impressive efficiency and advanced technology. This continued recognition from the team at Cars.com reinforces Hyundai’s engineering prowess.”

All models that are new or fully redesigned for the 2025 model year and previously awarded are eligible for Cars.com’s Top EV Picks awards. Award criteria include quality, innovation, and value.
