IONNA Launches First EV Charging Hub in North Carolina

In the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, IONNA, the national network of EV charging stations supported by General Motors and seven other automakers, officially launched its first station. The company’s goal of giving electric vehicle customers easy access to powerful charging choices has reached a major milestone with the opening of the Apex, North Carolina site.

With 10 charging bays that support both NACS and CCS charging protocols, the Apex Rechargery has a maximum fast-charging capability of 400 kW per bay. By giving drivers access to contemporary conveniences and dependability, this innovation seeks to revolutionise the EV charging experience.

In addition to high-speed charging, the Apex site offers free WiFi, a snack-filled lounge, toilets, and a pet-friendly environment. With this launch, IONNA moves from a public beta to a national rollout, marking the next stage of its growth.

IONNA has already secured 100 locations nationwide and plans to extend north into Canada soon, with 1,000 live charging bays by the end of the year. IONNA is dedicated to transforming the infrastructure for EV charging by elevating charging stops from a need to a pleasurable activity.

More innovation is coming as IONNA is ready to launch autonomous grab-and-go refreshment kiosks driven by AI. With the use of this technology, clients will be able to select their food and go without having to wait in queue. Furthermore, GM vehicles will soon have a smooth plug-and-charge experience at IONNA stations, guaranteeing hassle-free charging sessions.

As IONNA keeps growing, EV drivers in North America can anticipate a more dependable, high-tech, and convenient charging experience that is tailored to their needs.
