In order to enhance faster clean energy adoption among emerging economies, the ISA has entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the AIDA in the areas of solarisation, digitisation of utilities, AI-driven distribution systems, and knowledge sharing for ISA member countries.
The collaboration between the ISA and the AIDA marks a significant step toward enhancing clean energy adoption across emerging economies.
“Bringing together India’s power distribution expertise and ISA‘s global cooperation platform, the partnership aims to support scalable, practical solutions for strengthening clean energy deployment and sustainable development across the Global South,” International Solar Alliance noted.
In February 2026, the International Solar Alliance entered into an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi for collaboration in enhancing clean energy capacity-building initiatives, academic collaboration, and training the next generation of global solar professionals.
In January 2026, ISA and SELCO Foundation entered into an MoU for jointly scaling up solar-powered livelihood and productive use applications in Africa and other regions in the Global South with an emphasis on development outcomes.
In March 2026, the All India Discoms Association (AIDA) entered into an MoU with the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) for collaboration in the India Grids of the Future Accelerator Programme.
The ISA is a collaborative initiative between India and France aimed at uniting efforts to combat climate change by implementing solar energy solutions. It was conceptualized on the side lines of COP21 in Paris in 2015. Following a 2020 amendment to its Framework Agreement, all UN member states are now eligible to join the Alliance. Currently, 100+ countries are signatories, with 90+ countries having ratified to become full members. Its mission is to unlock $1 trillion in solar investments by 2030 while reducing technology and financing costs.
All India Discoms Association (AIDA) is a not for profit collaboration platform representing a wide spectrum of electricity distribution entities of India. AIDA serves as the unified voice of all electricity distribution entities in the country serving 345 million electricity consumers.
