Jakson Group Inaugurates ₹8,000 Crore 6 GW Solar Manufacturing Hub in Madhya Pradesh

In a landmark moment for India’s renewable energy sector, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, laid the foundation stone (Bhoomi Poojan) for Jakson Group’s first phase of 6 GW Integrated Solar Ingot, Wafer, Cell, and Module Manufacturing Facility at Maksi Phase II, Ujjain District.

The event was held at the 113.5-acre project site in Maksi and witnessed the presence of senior dignitaries from the Madhya Pradesh Government. Representing the Jakson Group were Mr. Sameer Gupta, Chairman, and Mr. Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman, along with members of the leadership team.

Hon’ble CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, Government of Madhya Pradesh, expressed, “This is a proud moment for Madhya Pradesh, reaffirming the success of our progressive and investor-friendly policies. The solar manufacturing hub at Maksi will create skilled jobs for our youth and position our state as the manufacturing and logistics center of India’s clean energy transition. It reflects Madhya Pradesh’s strength as a growth-focused state with skilled talent and robust infrastructure, while advancing the nation’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

Mr. Sameer Gupta, Chairman, Jakson Group, said, “The Bhoomi Poojan at Maksi marks a monumental milestone in Jakson Group’s 78-year journey and reinforces our unwavering commitment to ‘Make in India.’ This integrated solar manufacturing facility will drive technological self-reliance from the heart of India and strengthen the nation’s clean energy manufacturing capabilities. We are deeply grateful for the visionary leadership of the Madhya Pradesh Government, whose continued encouragement and support has made this possible.”

Mr. Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman, Jakson Group, “Vertical integration is the key to India’s energy independence, enabling cost efficiencies, technological advancement, and resilience against global supply disruptions. Supported by the progressive policies of the Madhya Pradesh Government and the national renewable energy roadmap, Jakson’s solar business is poised to drive innovation and accelerate India’s transition towards a sustainable and carbon-neutral future.”

With an investment of over ₹8,000 crore, the facility is the largest solar manufacturing initiative in Madhya Pradesh and a major step towards achieving India’s target of 500 GW renewable capacity by 2030 and Net Zero by 2070.

In Phase I, Jakson will establish a 3 GW solar cell and 4 GW solar module manufacturing facility, followed by backward integration into ingot and wafer production in subsequent phases. The project will also help develop a robust solar manufacturing ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh, fostering supply chain and ancillary industry growth.

Jakson Group already has a strong presence in the state with a 150 KLPD grain-based ethanol manufacturing plant in Balaghat. The upcoming solar manufacturing facility further strengthens this partnership with the state and underscores Jakson’s long-term commitment to advancing India’s clean energy and self-reliance goals.
