JBM EV Unveils Next-Generation ‘GALAXY’ Electric Coach for Intercity Travel

JBM Electric Vehicles has launched its next-generation ‘GALAXY’ electric luxury coach at Prawaas 5.0, marking its entry into premium intercity electric mobility. The coach was unveiled by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, in the presence of Nishant Arya, Chairman, JBM Electric Vehicles.

The GALAXY coach  by JBM EV is available in two configurations, including 22 Maharaja reclining seats with 20 sleeper berths and an onboard washroom, and 24 Maharaja reclining seats with 20 sleeper berths without a washroom. The company said the coach offers one of the highest seating capacities and luggage space in its segment, aimed at improving operator efficiency and passenger comfort on long-distance routes.

Commenting on the launch, Nishant Arya said the new GALAXY has been developed to meet the growing demand for premium intercity travel by combining luxury, operational efficiency and sustainable electric mobility.

The electric coach features European-inspired styling, panoramic windows, individual AC vents, reading lights, USB charging ports, and spacious interiors. Safety features include an ADAS-enabled architecture, ABS, EBS, hill-hold assist, live surveillance cameras and emergency exits.

For passenger convenience, the coach comes with kneeling and height-adjustment functions, electronically controlled air suspension, regenerative braking and fast-charging capability powered by modular battery packs.

JBM EV said it has deployed over 3,300 electric buses across 17 Indian states and more than 12 major airports. The company currently has an order book of over 10,000 electric buses and operates what it claims is the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 buses. Under its 3 billion e-km commitment, JBM’s electric buses have already covered 450 million e-km, serving more than 1.5 billion passengers globally.
