Jupiter International Secures ₹64.95 Crore LoE from MSEDCL for Solar Pump Projects

Jupiter International Limited, a leading Indian solar cell manufacturer and provider of solar power solutions, has strengthened its clean energy portfolio by receiving a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) worth ₹64.95 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The empanelment covers the manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and long-term maintenance of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) under the state-run Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY).

Empowering Farmers Through Solar Irrigation

The MTSKPY initiative is a flagship program of MSEDCL aimed at solarizing irrigation infrastructure in off-grid regions of Maharashtra, particularly for small and marginal farmers. By replacing diesel-powered pumps with solar alternatives, the program seeks to enhance water access, boost agricultural productivity, and support India’s broader agricultural decarbonisation goals.

Commenting on the empanelment, Akash Garodia, Promoter and Whole-Time Director, Jupiter International Ltd, said,
“This Letter of Empanelment from MSEDCL marks a critical step in our journey to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions where they matter most at the grassroots. By bringing solar irrigation to underserved farming communities, we’re not only replacing diesel with clean energy but also enhancing farmer incomes, improving water access, and supporting the country’s broader goal of agricultural decarbonisation.”

Farmer Awareness and Engagement

Jupiter International plans to launch an outreach campaign using WhatsApp, SMS, and regional engagement networks to educate beneficiaries about the scheme, including its benefits, application processes, and installation timelines.

Supporting India’s Clean Energy Transition

The entry into the solar pump sector aligns with Jupiter International’s long-term vision to accelerate India’s clean energy transition. The company operates a 959 MW high-efficiency solar PV cell manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh, which will help ensure high-quality, reliable, and locally manufactured solutions for solar-powered irrigation applications.

With this initiative, Jupiter International aims to combine renewable energy adoption with socio-economic benefits, contributing to both sustainable agriculture and the nation’s renewable energy targets.
