Jupiter International Limited, a photovoltaic solar cell manufacturer and a solar power solutions provider, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a state-of-the-art and vertically integrated solar manufacturing factory in Butibori, Nagpur.
At around Rs 10,900 crore, the investment in this project will consist of the entire value chain, including solar wafer manufacturing, new technology solar cell production, and solar module manufacturing, making this a full solar infrastructure project.
The project will create more than 8,300 jobs and stimulate the industrial sector and capacity development in the solar power industry.
Alok Garodia, Managing Director, Jupiter International Limited, said, “This investment reflects our long-term commitment to building India’s renewable energy future through technology, scale, and regional empowerment. We are thankful to the Government of Maharashtra for their continued support and guidance.”
Jupiter International is a company that has already established itself as having two manufacturing plants located in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, with an overall capacity of 500 MW and 500 MW respectively totaling 1.00 GW. The proposed Nagpur factory would be a tactical addition to the manufacturing structure of the company and a significant part of its roadmap of creating a vertically incorporated solar power enterprise.
