Premier Energies Launches High-Efficiency 620W G12R TOPCon Solar Modules in India

India-based solar module producer Premier Energies Limited, one of India’s largest integrated global manufacturers, announced the launch of its next-generation 620 W DCR solar modules using G12R TOPCon technology -one of the largest-format solar modules with one of the highest outputs at a global level.

The G12R 620 W module is packed with outstanding power density, an enhanced temperature coefficient, and better low-light performance with the integration of a TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) architecture. The G12R N-type cell format is a rectangular cell ideally suited to utility-scale, commercial and industrial rooftop projects, as the BOS can be optimized and the higher string power can be utilized.

As one of the earliest adopters of this technology domestically, Premier Energies continues to push the boundaries of performance, reliability, and sustainability in solar.

“This launch represents a significant milestone in India’s transition to high-efficiency solar,” said Chiranjeev Saluja, MD & CEO, Premier Energies. “This is the technology of the future. As one of the first few companies to bring 620 W DCR modules to market, we are offering a future-ready solution to help solar power investors and consumers in extracting more energy and value from every ray of the sun. These modules, compliant with India’s Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) regulations, go a long way in supporting the country’s solar power ambitions and Make in India policy.”

The major characteristics of 620 W G12R TOPCon modules are as follows:

  • High Output: Maximizes energy production, particularly on space-constrained rooftops and high-capacity land mounts.
  • TOPCon Efficiency: Next-generation design of cells that deliver high conversion efficiency when compared with conventional PERC.
  • Rectangular G12R Format: Ideal aspect ratio to utilize optimally in layout high string power and low system cost.
  • Better Durability: Robustly engineered to withstand the climatic challenges persevered in India—heat, humidity, dust and windloads.
  • Reduced LCOE: High power density and a strong showing in the field achieve a lower lifetime cost of energy.

With India stepping up the pace with regard to the addition of renewable capacity, Premier Energies will continue to focus on innovation, quality, and energy independence. The G12R 620 W offers the next step in the evolution of the company product line. It is designed to perform at the highest level, bringing returns to consumers and a reduced carbon footprint.
