AP Cabinet Approves Rs 904 Crore Amaravati Plan and 1,200-Acre Solar Project

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has approved a Rs 904-crore infrastructure development plan for Amaravati villages. Additionally, the cabinet has sanctioned the allocation of 1,200 acres of government land at Mylavaram for a solar power project, among other key decisions, announced Information and Public Relations Minister K. Parthasarathy.

Addressing a press meet on the Secretariat grounds, the minister said that the cabinet gave its administrative sanction to the development infrastructure facilities program involving an expenditure of Rs 904 crore and encompassing approximately 29 villages in Amaravati.

“The state cabinet approved inviting zone-wise tenders under the EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) model, with a seven-year operation and maintenance period, for infrastructure development in Land Pooling System (LPS) zones within village panchayats of Amaravati capital city,” he explained.

This initiative is on the Critical Infrastructure and Investment Plan (CIIP) of the greenfield capital city.

The cabinet also endorsed the utilization of 1,200 acres of government land in Vaddirala and Dhodium villages of Mylavaram mandal to be allocated to Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Private Limited through Adani Solar Energy AP Eight Pvt Ltd to set up a 250 MW solar power plant on a 33-year lease basis.

The cabinet also approved the Andhra Pradesh Circular Economy and Waste Recycling Policy (4.0) 2025-30 which is designed to address the rising menace of waste by turning waste into treasures, Parthasarathy said.

In addition, the cabinet also gave the green light to amendments in the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Land Allotment Policy 2024-29 which provide conditions regarding eligibility of land, notifications of the land banks, the procedure of allocating the notified lands under tourism projects, assessments of proposals, scrutiny of detailed project reports, and the schedule of execution of projects.
