Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, has partnered with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited to support nearly 900 MW of renewable energy capacity in India. As part of the collaboration, the companies will facilitate the development of 837 MW of new solar and wind power projects across Rajasthan and Karnataka. Including previously announced initiatives, the partnership now exceeds 900 MW of renewable energy capacity.
The agreement represents an important step toward Meta’s commitment to match its electricity consumption with 100% clean and renewable energy. Under the arrangement, Meta will also acquire all environmental attributes associated with the renewable energy projects, further supporting its sustainability and decarbonization goals.
The announcement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies and reflects the growing role of innovative corporate procurement models in accelerating India’s energy transition
Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director, Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited, said, “Meta connects billions of people every day through platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads while helping shape the future of digital and AI infrastructure.
