    Nagaland Owns 6 Operational EV Charging Stations

    Under Government of India’s push for electrification on mass level, Central Government has announced that six EV charging stations have been operationalized in Nagaland by oil marketing companies at their retail outlets as of July 1, 2022.

    EV Charging StationsIn a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar informed that the Ministry has sanctioned 2,877 EV charging stations in 68 cities across 25 States/UTs and 1576 charging stations across nine Expressways and 16 Highways under Phase II of FAME India Scheme.

    The Ministry had sanctioned 520 EV Charging Stations/ Infrastructure under the Phase-I of the FAME India scheme.

    Under Phase-II, she said Rs. 1000 crore has been allocated for the development of charging infrastructure.

    Further, the minister informed that presently 13,92,265 EVs were running on roads in India as of August 3, 2022.

    Out of the total, over 5.44 lakh include two-wheelers, over 7.93 lakh three-wheelers and over 54,000 four-wheelers and above.

    He said the government has taken several steps for the adoption of EVs in the country.
