The state-owned NTPC Green Energy Ltd. has a proposal to establish renewable energy and battery energy storage plants (BESS) in Bihar, and this will expand the portfolio and the presence of the company in the field of clean energy.
The company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company limited (BSPGCL) to pursue its objectives.
The MoU between BSPGCL and BSPGCL is targeting the development of Battery Energy Storage Projects and Renewable Energy Projects to decarbonize and transition to energy in Bihar, stated NTPC Green Energy Limited (NgEL) in a statement on Saturday.
Signed by Sarit Maheswari, CEO (NGEL) and Abdesh Kumar Singh, Director Technical (BSPGCL), the loan was signed in the presence of Minister of Energy, Planning, and Development of the Government of Bihar Bijendra Prasad Yadav and other senior officers of the Bihar state government.
NGEL is an umbrella firm of green business projects of NTPC and it works in both organic and inorganic manners, and it should become the torch-bearer of the green energy mission of NTPC to meet the ambitious goal of 60 gigawatts (GW) by FY32.
