NTPC REL has issued a tender for an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) package with land for the development of a 300 MW grid-connected solar power project in Goa. Interested bidders are invited to submit their proposals by August 26, 2025.
Under the tender, the chosen bidder will completely execute the EPC of the project, which involves the supply and installation works of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and commissioning of the plant in any of the suitable locations within Goa.
The work on the project encompasses:
Locating and purchasing the land which is free of encumbrance and giving over the full rights in the possession or right to lease the land to NTPC REL.
Grid connectivity arrangement is conducted at the proposed interconnecting grid substation.
Development and installation of foundational designs and structures, and the erection of Module Mounting Structures (MMS) in SPV panels, along with installation and connection of modules.
Simulate all the activities that will require the EPC effort in order to build the solar PV project, such as the power evacuation system and the telemetry to the grid substation. This consists of transformers, protection systems, cables, metering, and adherence to the technical standards and regulations that are relevant.
This is a tender that helps Goa in accomplishing its wider vision of renewable energy development. Elaborating on the same goal during a recent conference hosted by the Solar Power Association of Goa (SPAG), the President, Sandeep Naik said that the goal of the state becoming a solar industry hub is fast becoming a reality with the turnover of the industry across the state projected to grow nearly nine times to 325 crore rupees in 2027 and the employment figure in the sector fast approaching 9000 jobs.
Naik also pointed out that the central government has already provided the state with 13.5 crores in subsidies and a further 5.37 crores to the actual beneficiaries. The amount of GST that the solar industry is currently contributing is 4.48 crore, whereas the collection is expected to shoot to 39 crore by 2027.
