POWERCON Group has announced the appointment of Deepika Chavan as its Chief People Officer (CPO), reinforcing its organisational capabilities as the company accelerates expansion in the renewable energy sector. Chavan returns to POWERCON for her second tenure, bringing nearly two decades of cross-industry experience spanning IT, renewables, FMCG, and EPC.
She has previously worked with leading organisations such as Monster India, VA TECH WABAG, Sula Vineyards, ITCube Solutions, and Tekdi Technologies, along with prior experience within POWERCON itself. Her diverse background positions her to support the company’s evolving people and business strategy.
Leadership Role to Align People and Business Strategy
In her new role, Chavan will collaborate closely with the leadership team to align POWERCON’s people strategy with its broader business objectives. Her mandate includes strengthening leadership capabilities, enhancing organisational effectiveness, and ensuring consistency in people practices across the group.
She will also be in charge of setting up structured talent pipelines across POWERCON’s portfolio companies, which include CORE, CFEE, DataMann, DroneMaster, HT Infra, PowerSun, and PowerWind. The company said that her knowledge of building capacity and working with both industry and academia will be very helpful in creating a skilled and ready-to-work workforce.
Supporting Expansion in Renewable Energy
Commenting on the appointment, Praveen Kakulte, Founder and CEO of POWERCON Group, emphasised that the company’s growth ambitions in the renewable energy space require stronger alignment and agility across its operations. He noted that Chavan’s sectoral understanding will play a key role in supporting the company’s next phase of expansion.
Chavan also acknowledged the company’s growth trajectory and strategic direction.
“POWERCON is at a pivotal stage in its growth journey, with a clear focus on expanding its RE footprint. I look forward to working closely with the team to further strengthen organisational capabilities in line with this vision,” she said.
Expanding Global Presence
POWERCON Group works in a lot of different places right now, with project hubs in India and offices in 23 other countries. The company has more than 700 employees and serves a wide range of clients, including global conglomerates, independent power producers (IPPs), and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The appointment of Chavan marks a strategic step in strengthening POWERCON’s organisational framework as it continues to scale its renewable energy operations globally.
