Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has appointed Prashant Singh as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ONGC Green Limited, strengthening the company’s leadership as it accelerates its clean energy and renewable power ambitions.
Singh brings more than three decades of experience in India’s energy sector and is expected to lead ONGC Green’s strategic initiatives aimed at expanding its renewable energy portfolio and supporting ONGC’s long-term sustainability and energy transition goals.
Before taking over as CEO, Singh served as Group General Manager and Head – New Energy at ONGC, where he played a key role in developing and advancing the company’s new energy initiatives. During his tenure, he contributed to ONGC’s efforts to diversify beyond conventional oil and gas operations and increase its focus on renewable energy investments.
In addition to his responsibilities at ONGC, Singh serves as a Board Member at Ayana Renewable Power and Pawan Hans Ltd, reflecting his broad leadership experience across India’s energy ecosystem. His expertise spans energy transformation, operational excellence, project execution, and strategic business growth.
His appointment comes at a time when ONGC is expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector through ONGC Green Limited. The company has been actively pursuing opportunities in solar, wind, green hydrogen, and other clean energy technologies as part of its strategy to align with India’s net-zero ambitions and the country’s growing clean energy demand.
Industry observers believe Singh’s experience in both conventional and emerging energy businesses will help accelerate ONGC Green’s renewable energy expansion while strengthening its position in India’s rapidly evolving energy landscape.
With Singh at the helm, ONGC Green is expected to further enhance its clean energy investments and play a larger role in supporting India’s transition toward a low-carbon and sustainable energy future
