Prostarm to Build 1.2 GWh BESS Manufacturing Plant in Haryana’s MET City

Prostarm Info Systems is setting up a 25 crore rupee BESS plant in Haryana's MET City with 1.2 GWh annual capacity.

Prostarm Info Systems is also intending to build its initial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) fabrication plant within the Reliance MET City, in Jhajjar, Haryana. It is one of the major milestones in terms of the initiative of the company to strengthen its manufacturing capacity in the battery energy storage solution segment.

In terms of the planned expansion, the Company has already leased a 9-year term, rent until April 2034 (with the start of the term in May 2025), a parcel of land where, in addition to the open space, there is a covered-shed area of 34,000 sq. ft. Its planned total capex allocation on the project is Rs 25 crore to include installation of advanced plant and machinery, office structure, HVAC systems, additional power capacity, anti-static flooring, and warehousing, among other facilities to accommodate high-end assembly and integration. The plant will include an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.2 GWh, which will allow Prostarm to receive large-scale demand to cover various industries.

“This strategic expansion marks our entry into the fast-growing BESS segment, which is a natural extension of our core expertise in power electronics. With this facility, the company aims to become one of India’s few OEMs manufacturing BESS solutions, allowing us to directly supply to EPC contractors and developers, thereby opening up significant new revenue opportunities.”

“We believe this strategic expansion positions Prostarm at the forefront of India’s energy transformation. In BESS, the company already secured a 22 MWh order from Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. for design, supply, installation, commissioning and testing, having a contract value of approximately INR 52 crore, and another LOI from Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. for 120 MWh on a BOOT model with a monthly rental of INR 4.44 lakh/MW for a period of 12 years.”

    – Ram Agarwal, Whole Time Director and CEO of Prostarm Info Systems.

The BESS unit will serve commercial & industrial (C&I) as well as utility-scale. The plant is projected to go online at the end of financial year 2026, and together with the apparently challenging goals the country of India has set in terms of renewable energy production and distribution, the plant will serve the increasing needs of energy storage solutions through financing the demand.

Propstarm Info Systems is involved in making design, manufacturing, assembly, sale, service as well as supplying energy storage equipment and power conditioning equipment (power solution products) in India.
