REnergy Dynamics (RED) has secured two Waste-to-Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects from Refex Renewables in Tamil Nadu. The projects include a 12.5 TPD facility in Coimbatore and a 10 TPD plant in Salem, both designed to process nearly 550 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day using two-stage mesophilic anaerobic digestion technology. RED will oversee engineering, procurement, construction, and one year of operations and maintenance for the projects.
RED will manage Engineering, Procurement and Construction and a year of Operations and Maintenance. The projects are expected to displace ~2.9 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, create over 250 jobs, reduce landfill dependency, and contribute to India’s fossil fuel savings, thereby promoting a circular economy through effective waste conversion into clean bioenergy.
Leadership comments on the partnership
Kushagra Nandan, Chairman & Managing Director, REnergy Dynamics, said, “Securing two projects from Refex Renewables is a significant milestone for REnergy Dynamics. It reflects the strength of our execution capabilities and the growing confidence in our ability to deliver large-scale, sustainable bioenergy infrastructure. Partnerships like these are critical in accelerating India’s transition towards a circular energy economy, where waste becomes a valuable resource.”
Varun Karad, Co-Founder & CEO, REnergy Dynamics, added, “These back-to-back project wins demonstrate the robustness of our techno-financial EPC approach and our focus on execution excellence. Waste-to-CBG is not just about technology; it is about delivering reliable, scalable systems on the ground. With these projects, we are strengthening our footprint in South India and continuing to build assets that are designed for long-term performance.”
Kalpesh Kumar, MD, Refex Renewables, said, “Our partnership with REnergy Dynamics is rooted in a shared vision of building efficient, scalable waste-to-energy solutions that make a lasting impact. Their engineering expertise and execution-driven approach make them an ideal partner for delivering complex CBG projects with precision and reliability. Together, we look forward to creating infrastructure that advances sustainable waste management and accelerates the transition to clean energy.”
Expanding bioenergy infrastructure in India
As India continues to expand its focus on sustainable energy and circular waste management, REnergy Dynamics said it aims to strengthen its presence in the bioenergy sector through scalable CBG infrastructure and integrated waste-to-energy solutions. The company plans to continue expanding into high-growth regional markets while developing projects that combine environmental sustainability with long-term economic viability.
