The Rajasthan Solarpark Development Company Limited (RSDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL), has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) from developers for setting up a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan. The initiative is aimed at optimally utilising the available 680 MW grid connectivity during non-solar hours and strengthening renewable energy integration into the state’s power network.
The proposed BESS project will store surplus or curtailed renewable energy generated during peak solar hours and discharge it during evening and night periods when solar generation is not available. This is expected to enhance grid stability, improve the utilisation of transmission infrastructure, and increase the overall efficiency of the State Transmission Utility (STU) network.
Under the proposed structure, the project will be developed on a developer-owned and developer-operated model for 15 years, with the selected developer responsible for financing, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the facility, while retaining ownership and commercial flexibility for energy use and revenue generation.
RSDCL will facilitate the project by providing land in Bhadla Solar Park, interconnection at the 132 kV voltage level, and assistance with regulatory approvals and clearances. The project aligns with the Rajasthan Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2024, which allows for multiple off-take options, including supply to DISCOMs, captive use, and open access.
The EoI process shall start from 18.06.2026 at 11:00 AM, and stakeholder consultation shall be held on 24.06.2026 at 14:30 Hrs at the RRECL Conference Room, Jaipur. The last date for submission of EoI responses is 14.07.2026 till 18:00 Hrs.
This process is an exploratory EoI to understand the market interest, and the same is expected to be required later at the RfP stage. No Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) has been prescribed at this stage. However, the applicants are required to pay a non-refundable EoI document fee of ₹1,000 plus 18% GST and a processing fee of ₹5,000 plus 18% GST.
Only applicants having a positive Net Worth for FY 2025–26, certified by a statutory auditor, will be eligible for the application. They are also required to propose BESS configurations such as 2-hour, 4-hour, or 6-hour storage durations and a proposed energy sharing or revenue sharing model with RSDCL. The submissions can be made online or offline to the designated Project Manager Deepak Sharma at the RSDCL office, Jaipur.
