Schneider Electric has elevated Sumati Sahgal as Vice President – Secure Power & Data Centres for the Greater India Zone. In her expanded role, she will lead the company’s Secure Power and Data Centre business with end-to-end responsibility for business performance, strategic execution, and customer experience across critical infrastructure portfolios.

The appointment comes at a very important time for India as it speeds up its transition to digital and energy sources. This is because there is a growing need for data centers, AI-powered technologies, and green infrastructure. The move shows that Schneider Electric is serious about building up its leadership team and making India a key center for innovation and energy transformation.
Driving ‘Grid to Chip’ Strategy and Growth Segments
In her new mandate, Sahgal will spearhead Schneider Electric’s “Grid to Chip” and “Chip to Chiller” strategy, focusing on building integrated, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Her priorities include:
- Driving hyper-growth in cloud and service provider segments
- Positioning Schneider as a leader in AI-ready infrastructure
- Expanding enterprise channels and strengthening partner ecosystems
- Deploying an end-to-end specialist model from design to delivery and services
She will also focus on enhancing go-to-market strategies, customer engagement, and collaboration across partner networks to drive profitable growth.

Strong Experience and Proven Track Record
Sahgal brings over 20 years of leadership experience across technology and telecommunications sectors, with a strong track record in P&L management, business transformation, and customer-centric growth.
Before this job, she was the Vice President of Home Solutions at Schneider Electric India. In that role, she led the Homes & Distribution division, coming up with new ideas for products and changing the way they were sold, all while making the brand stronger in the Indian consumer market.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Delhi and an MBA in Marketing from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
