Sembcorp has secured a 50 MW round-the-clock power project from SECI, integrating 300 MW of solar, wind, and battery storage.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp), through its wholly owned renewables subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited (SGIPL), has been awarded its first 50 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) power project (the Project) from Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI). This build-own-operate project is part of SECI’s 1.2 GW tender for RTC power from interstate transmission system-connected renewable energy projects.

Sembcorp will integrate approximately 300 MW1 of installed capacity comprising solar, wind, and battery energy storage solutions (BESS) to meet the contracted capacity.

With this project, Sembcorp will deepen its renewables capabilities in India, taking its gross renewables capacity to more than 6.5 GW. Globally, Sembcorp’s total renewables portfolio has reached 18.0 GW, including acquisitions pending completion.

Subject to the execution of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI and upon completion of the project, it will supply RTC renewable power supported by BESS to SECI. The project is expected to be ready for commercial operation within 24 months from the date of signing the PPA. The project will be funded through a mix of internal funds and debt.

The award of the project is not expected to have a material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending December 31, 2025.

From growing its renewable energy assets to investing in clean energy infrastructure and low-carbon technologies, its vision is to be a leading provider of sustainable solutions—supporting development and creating value for stakeholders and communities. The company actively seeks opportunities for collaboration to drive the transition towards a brighter future. Its solutions empower businesses, communities and everyday lives for tomorrow and beyond.

Their commitment extends to their integrated urban solutions, which promote resilient cities that thrive on efficient and innovative use of energy solutions, water resources, and smart waste management.
