Shakti Pumps Secures ₹155.24 crore for installation of 6,580 solar water pumps

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has been issued a Letter of Empanelment by MSEDCL for the installation of 6,580 off-grid solar PV-powered water pumps as part of the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana scheme in the state of Maharashtra. The project will utilize water pumps with 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP powers.

Under this agreement, Shakti Pumps will handle the complete scope of work, involving the design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, and testing of the solar pumps.

The total value of the contract stands at Rs. 155.24 crore inclusive of GST, while the base value is Rs. 142.55 crore. The order is a major boost to the growing portfolio of the company in the field of renewable energy, specifically in solar irrigation systems.

According to the company, the project is expected to be completed within 60 days from the date the work order is issued or the Notice to Proceed is given. This short timeline reflects a fast-track approach, aimed at delivering timely benefits to farmers.

Shakti Pumps also made it clear that this contract is not a related party transaction. The company confirmed that neither its promoters nor any group companies have any connection or financial interest in Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

Overall, this development strengthens Shakti Pumps’ role in supporting India’s renewable energy mission. It is especially significant for the agricultural sector, where solar-powered solutions are helping farmers reduce their reliance on traditional energy sources while moving towards more sustainable practices.
