Sineng Electric unveils 430kW liquid cooling string PCS

Sineng Electric, a global leader in solar and energy storage solutions, recently unveiled its state-of-the-art 430kW liquid cooling string PCS. This launch sets a new benchmark in high-power energy storage, delivering superior efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Exceptional Flexibility and Compatibility

As the industry shifts toward higher-capacity battery cells, Sineng’s 430kW PCS offers remarkable flexibility across a wide range of application scenarios while optimizing the Levelized Cost of Storage (LCOS). Featuring advanced technology and an innovative architecture, the PCS supports different configurations, ensuring flexible scalability and compatibility with 6MWh+ battery containers. Furthermore, it supports liquid cooling and grid forming, catering to various installation requirements.

Liquid Cooling Technology for Superior Performance

Harnessing advanced liquid cooling technology, the 430kW PCS achieves balanced heat dissipation and reduces overall temperature rise by 5K. This thermal management not only extends the product’s operational lifespan to 25 years but also improves charging and discharging efficiency, directly enhancing return on investment.

Enhanced Efficiency

By integrating liquid cooling technology and an optimized power control algorithm, the PCS improves its round-trip efficiency (RTE) by 0.2% while reducing auxiliary power consumption by 30%. Its cluster-level management increases system charge and discharge capacity by over 7% throughout its lifecycle, thereby maximizing the operational cost-effectiveness.

Higher Power Density

Compared with the previous-generation string PCS, the 430kW PCS delivers a 130% increase in power density, enabling a 20% reduction in footprint for projects of the same capacity. Its compact design makes it ideal for space-constrained installations, minimizing infrastructure and material costs.

Exceptional Adaptability for Diverse Environments

Built to withstand harsh conditions, the PCS is equipped with IP66 and C5 anti-corrosion protection, ensuring consistent performance across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 60°C, at altitudes up to 5,000m, and in corrosive coastal environments. The liquid cooling technology effectively mitigates the heat island effect and reduces the ambient temperature within the power station by up to 5°C.

Advanced Safety Measures

To mitigate potential risks associated with short circuits, the PCS limits DC short-circuit current to 10kA level, effectively preventing cascading failures and enhancing operational safety.

O&M Cost Optimization

Through the cluster-level management and automated state-of-charge (SOC) calibration, the PCS reduces maintenance costs by up to 50%, ensuring streamlined, intelligent operation and maintenance processes.

Reliability & Simplified O&M

The 430kW string PCS can be integrated into turnkey stations of varying capacities. Its modular design for PCS, coupled with IP68 plug-and-play terminals, enables rapid replacement within 30 minutes – substantially minimizing downtime. This streamlined maintenance approach ensures annual system availability exceeding 99.5%.

Next-Generation Grid Forming Technology

By incorporating next-generation grid-forming technology, the PCS delivers exceptional stability across modern power systems. With capabilities including seamless on-grid and off-grid switching, continuous fault ride-through, grid inertia response and primary frequency response, the solution ensures grid resilience even in the most challenging conditions. Additionally, in the event of a system-wide failure, the black start capability is enabled through a wireless parallel connection, facilitating the restoration of grid stability.

6.25MW Liquid Cooling String PCS MV Turnkey Station

The 430kW string PCS can be configured into a 6.25MW MV turnkey station. In a 100MW energy storage project, this solution can reduce the number of devices by 20%, thereby lowering the cost per kWh by 0.27 cents. Its integrated liquid cooling system also contributes to a reduced sound pressure level, ensuring quieter operation, with the overall noise level kept below 75 decibels.

As the global energy landscape embraces a more diversified energy mix, energy storage remains pivotal in maximizing clean energy utilization and stabilizing contemporary power systems. Sineng Electric, through groundbreaking technological innovation, reaffirms its commitment to delivering advanced energy solutions that accelerate the transition toward a carbon-neutral future.
