SJVN Limited has announced the appointment of Parthajit De as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel, effective April 10, 2026. The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors during a meeting held on Friday.
Seasoned Finance Professional to Lead Financial Strategy
Parthajit De, who currently serves as Director (Finance) at SJVN, brings nearly three decades of experience in corporate finance, taxation, accounting standards, and governance. His extensive expertise is expected to strengthen the company’s financial leadership as it continues to expand its operations.
Before joining SJVN, De worked for a long time at NHPC Limited, where he was in charge of important tasks like “Corporate Accounts & Policy,” “Corporate Tax Cell,” and “Employment Benefit Trusts.” He also worked as a “Nominee Director at Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation,” where he helped with governance and strategic oversight.
Strong Academic and Professional Background
De holds several prestigious professional qualifications. He is a “Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI),” a “Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA),” and holds a “CGMA certification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).”
He started his career at NHPC in 1998 as a “Trainee Officer (Finance)” and gained a lot of experience working on projects and in corporate offices in Sikkim, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and Bihar.
Recognised Excellence in Financial Reporting
De was an important part of keeping high standards of financial reporting while he worked at NHPC. The C&AG didn’t say anything about the company’s financial statements for nine years in a row, which shows that the company was very compliant and open.
Under his financial leadership, NHPC also won a number of awards, such as the “Silver Shield for Excellence in Financial Reporting (2019–20),” the “Gold Shield from ICAI (2020–21),” and the “Gold Medal for Best Presented Annual Report from the South Asian Federation of Accountants.”
Focus on Strengthening Governance and Growth
SJVN stated that the appointment underscores its commitment to enhancing financial systems, governance frameworks, and efficient resource management. The company noted that De’s expertise in “tariff regulations, accounting standards, and financial systems” will play a crucial role in supporting its long-term growth and sustainability as a Navratna CPSE.
SJVN wants to strengthen its financial base even more and grow its power generation portfolio with this change in leadership.
