Suzlon to Invest ₹10,000 Crore in Andhra Pradesh for 1,325 MW Wind Projects

Suzlon Group is set to invest ₹10,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh to develop 1,325 MW of new wind power capacity, strengthening its long-term renewable energy footprint in the state. The investment forms part of the company’s broader target of reaching 5 GW of wind capacity in Andhra Pradesh by 2030.

The projects will be developed around Govindawada in the Rayadurgam constituency of Anantapur district in partnership with Tata Power and Waaree Energy.

Suzlon Vice Chairman Girish Tanti said the partnership brings together companies that have played a significant role in the growth of India’s renewable energy sector.

Andhra Pradesh is already a major manufacturing base for Suzlon. The company has operated in Anantapur since 2004 and has invested around ₹12,000 crore in its manufacturing facilities across the state.

The company is also preparing to expand production of S144 turbine blades at its Anantapur facility, with Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh expected to inaugurate new production lines. Suzlon’s Ippuru plant has an annual blade manufacturing capacity of 1,260 MW, representing around 40% of the company’s total blade production capacity.

Alongside its manufacturing and project development activities, Suzlon is working with the Andhra Pradesh government on workforce development. Its Wind Energy Learning Centres in Vijayawada and Uravakonda are aimed at training 12,000 people, with women expected to account for 25% of the trainees.

The investment comes as Suzlon continues to report strong business momentum. The company’s revenue rose 23% year-on-year to ₹3,819 crore, supported by record deliveries. Its order book also remains strong, including more than 1 GW of orders from Tata Power.

The new investment is expected to further expand Andhra Pradesh’s role in India’s wind energy supply chain while supporting the state’s renewable energy capacity growth through 2030.
