Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has received a significant Letter of Intent (LOI) from a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) for the execution of a major solar photovoltaic project in Rajasthan. The project, with a capacity of 300 MW AC / 420 MWp DC, will be delivered under a balance-of-system engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package. This contract, valued at approximately ₹415 crore, includes comprehensive responsibilities such as operations, maintenance, and applicable taxes. A key component of the scope also involves the development of a 220/33 kV pooling substation to support the plant’s infrastructure and ensure seamless power evacuation.
Mr. Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group, stated, “We are excited to partner with a leading global renewable developer with huge growth plans in the domestic market and bag our first order from the Private IPP market this fiscal year. The order is a testament to our strong execution capabilities, and we continue to build on our gross order inflows, which have exceeded ₹2,400 crore this year.”
This new contract aligns with SWREL’s strategic focus on strengthening its domestic footprint while continuing to serve global renewable energy players. The company, which is publicly listed on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has built a strong reputation for delivering complex renewable energy infrastructure projects across varied geographies.
As the demand for clean energy infrastructure grows in India, especially in solar-rich states like Rajasthan, this order further positions SWREL as a preferred EPC partner. With the government and private sector both ramping up renewable energy capacity, the company’s expanding order book underlines its role in driving the country’s transition to sustainable energy.
