Tata Power Partners with Bengal Chamber of Commerce to Expand Rooftop Solar Adoption Among MSMEs in West Bengal

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) to accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar solutions among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Bengal, officials said. The collaboration aims to facilitate a transition toward cleaner, cost-effective energy while supporting the state’s industrial growth and sustainability goals.

Under the partnership, Tata Power and BCC&I plan to implement structured awareness and outreach programs across key industrial sectors in West Bengal. The initiative focuses on enabling MSMEs to adopt rooftop solar systems, thereby reducing energy costs, lowering carbon emissions, and contributing to the state’s renewable energy targets.

TPREL’s rooftop solar arm, Tata Power Solaroof, has already played a significant role in West Bengal’s solar energy adoption, facilitating the installation of over 85 MWp of rooftop solar capacity through more than 20 channel partners. These partnerships ensure localized engagement and efficient execution of projects across industrial clusters, making rooftop solar solutions more accessible to businesses.

Tata Power Solaroof provides end-to-end rooftop solar solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial segments. Its offerings include high-performance solar modules with a 25-year performance warranty, flexible financing options, insurance coverage, and dedicated after-sales support, enabling seamless adoption for customers.

At the national level, Tata Power Solarroof operates through a network of over 650 channel partners, supporting rooftop solar deployment across India. The company has so far completed more than 3 lakh rooftop solar installations, accounting for over 4 GWp of installed capacity, solidifying its position as one of the country’s leading rooftop solar providers.

This collaboration with BCC&I is expected to strengthen renewable energy penetration among MSMEs in West Bengal, promoting sustainability and economic efficiency while supporting India’s broader clean energy and carbon reduction goals.

With this initiative, Tata Power continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding renewable energy solutions, fostering green industrial growth, and contributing to India’s vision of a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
