TATA power Rajasthan solar project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading Indian renewable energy company and subsidiary of Tata Power, has commissioned a 72.5 MW captive renewable energy project at Kalasar, Bikaner, Rajasthan, developed for Tata Steel Limited.

The project marks another significant milestone in India’s dean energy journey by integrating large-scale solar generation with latest technology solutions. The project is advancing Tata Steel’s decarbonization journey and strengthening TPREL’s contribution to India’s renewable energy capacity.
The project is expected to generate 166 MUs of green energy annually and offset 1,18,856 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The project deploys 1,71,360 modules for Tata Steel project, that have been manufactured from TP Solar Limited.

TPREL has been serving a variety of sectors, which include utility requirements, Datacentre, Communications IT, Petrochemicals, Steel, Automobile, FMCG and Biotechnology, to name a few. TPREL continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio and reinforce its position as one of India’s leading renewable energy companies The Company remains committed to developing innovative clean energy solutions that contribute to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and Tata Power’s vision of a sustainable energy future.

This project underscores TPREL’s strong engineering expertise and execution excellence, highlighting our capability to deliver complex, technology-driven renewable energy assets within demanding timelines. We remain steadfast in our commitment to developing innovative clean energy infrastructure that enhances grid resilience, supports industrial decarbonization, and advances India’s vision of a sustainable, low-carbon energy future. With the addition of this project, TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity has reached 12.3 GW. Out of this around 7 GW is operational, including 5.7 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity, while close to 5.3 GW is under various stages of implementation, which includes 2.2 GW solar and 3.1 GW wind, which are expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 6-24 months.
