Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka of Telangana has issued guidelines to the electricity officials to check out 23 locations in the state to produce hydel and pumped storage-based power in a significant amount. It is also a part of a complete review of hydropower schemes in the Krishna River, Jurala to Pulichintala, that was conducted at Somasila in the Kollapur constituency on Sunday. Vikramarka insisted on the use of advanced technologies, and in case of need, it might be even globally recognizable consultants.
Deputy CM was hysterical in lauding the foresight of the earlier Congress Government of 1978 that brought in the advanced technologies through the assistance of world-renowned Japanese corporations such as Toshiba and Mitsubishi. He emphasized how the energy sector must be diversified in line with growing demand between 10 and 20 years to come due to greater utilization of alternative energy resources like Green hydrogen, Floating solar, Rooftop solar, Thermal power, wind energy, and battery storage systems.
The instruction is in line with the general tendency in the energy shift worldwide, specifically, the increasing importance of hydrogen energy storage. A recent report published by Coherent Market Insights states that Hydrogen energy storage exists in a market valued at an estimated USD 24.32 billion by 2032 and that its growth will rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8 percent between 2025 and 2032. This has been a rapid increase occasioned by the integration of renewable sources of energy, more investment in electrolysis technology and favorable government policy in Germany, Japan and the United States.
The main factors contributing to this market growth are the increased adoption of renewable energy into the energy grid, fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), and the consequent huge governmental efforts in reducing industrial processes. Cost and storage time also reduce as more technological innovation is made on techniques of high pressure and also cryogenic storage, which improves the applicability of hydrogen storage methods to other industries.
At Telangana the emphasis on hydropower and renewable energy resources will help landfill make a strategic move to fulfill the future energy need as well as to ensure sustainable growth. The fact that the state is trying to utilize modern technologies and the knowledge of the world’s specialists demonstrates the proactive position in the new energy environment.
