Terra Tech Launches Abu Dhabi’s First EV Motorbike Battery-Swapping Station with ADNOC Support

Terra Tech Ltd. is a pioneering startup company specializing in battery-swapping technology and has recently already set up the first battery-swapping station in Abu Dhabi, with ADNOC Distribution contributing as a critical facilitator in achieving sustainable mobility in the UAE. This launch is a major step in the growth of Terra Tech Ltd. into the capital and portrays the strategic significance of the nationwide network of service stations of ADNOC Distribution in the facilitation of clean means of transport.

It is the first battery-swapping station for electric motorbikes in Abu Dhabi, and it is placed in one of the flagship service stations of ADNOC. It will serve the increasing number of last-mile delivery riders who work in the city using battery-powered motorbikes and can replace the depleted ones in a few seconds and replace them with fully charged batteries. This solution will reduce downtimes, minimize emissions, and assist in the move towards traditional transport, which consumes fuel.

“Expanding into Abu Dhabi is a pivotal step in Terra Tech Ltd.’s journey to build future-ready electric mobility infrastructure across the UAE,” stated Husam Zammar, Founder of Terra Tech Ltd. “ADNOC Distribution’s extensive service station footprint provides us with a powerful platform to reach riders where they are and accelerate the adoption of clean mobility in the capital.”

With the aid of the large and reliable network that ADNOC has implemented, Terra Tech Ltd. can provide extremely reachable and scalable battery swapping solutions. This partnership is an indicator of the way current energy networks are being redesigned to offer the UAE its clean mobility goals, as well as to meet the daily operational tasks of the businesses and delivery service.

The project aims to advance the ambition of Abu Dhabi Mobility to ensure that 50 percent of vehicles are electric by the year 2040 and promotes the objective of the UAE as a whole to become carbon neutral by 2050. Terra Tech Ltd. and ADNOC Distribution are offering a sustainable, time-saving option of delivery fleets and businesses in Abu Dhabi by allowing efficient and swift battery replacements.

This station opening has justified the efforts of Terra Tech Ltd. to increase the electric mobility infrastructure in the territory of the UAE—pushing the national sustainability agenda battery by battery.
