    Connectors in EV Charging – A Guide!

    CHAdeMO Connector

    Combined Charging System (CCS)

    The CCS connector is the most common charging standard that is popularly used in Europe and North America. It is a combination of a Type 2 AC connector and a DC fast-charging connector.

    The CCS Connectors for EV Charging support both AC and DC charging up to 350 kW, making it one of the fastest charging standards available. The CCS connector has a compact design that allows for easy handling and is compatible with several EV models, including the BMW i3, Volkswagen e-Golf, and Audi e-tron.

    Tesla Supercharger Connector

    The Tesla Supercharger connector is exclusive to Tesla vehicles and is not compatible with other EV models. It supports DC fast charging up to 250 kW and is designed to provide the fastest charging times for Tesla vehicles.

    These Connectors for EV Charging have a distinctive “paddle” design with a button on top that unlocks the connector from the charging port when pressed. Tesla Supercharger connectors are typically found at Tesla’s Supercharger network of charging stations.

    Type 2 Connector
