V-GREEN, a global electric vehicle (EV) charging station development company, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to jointly roll out EV charging stations across HPCL’s retail fuel station network in India. The partnership is aimed at accelerating electric mobility adoption by significantly expanding accessible and reliable charging infrastructure nationwide.
Under the agreement, V-GREEN will leverage HPCL’s extensive footprint of more than 24,400 retail outlets across India to deploy EV charging solutions at key urban and highway locations. HPCL, a Maharatna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, already operates over 5,300 EV charging stations under its HP e-Charge brand, along with more than 150 battery swapping stations, providing a strong base for further network expansion.
The collaboration brings together HPCL’s nationwide reach and experience in energy retail with V-GREEN’s expertise in large-scale charging infrastructure development. It is expected to enable faster deployment of EV charging stations and improve the overall charging experience for EV users as India intensifies its push toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
V-GREEN Global Charging Station Development Company was founded by billionaire entrepreneur Pham Nhat Vuong, the founder of Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast. Headquartered in Vietnam, V-GREEN has established a significant presence in its home market, operating around 150,000 charging ports nationwide, and has expanded operations to countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines. The partnership with HPCL marks V-GREEN’s formal entry into the Indian market, which is a key focus area in its international growth strategy.
The tie-up also aligns with the broader ambitions of V-GREEN, VinFast, and their partners to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem in India. This ecosystem is expected to span vehicle manufacturing, charging infrastructure, after-sales services, and battery recycling, supporting large-scale EV adoption in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets. VinFast has already indicated plans to expand its product portfolio in India beyond electric cars, including into the two-wheeler segment.
By combining infrastructure strength, technological capability, and shared sustainability objectives, the V-GREEN–HPCL partnership is expected to play an important role in shaping India’s evolving EV charging landscape and supporting the country’s long-term clean mobility goals.
