The Charge Point Operators Society of India (CPOSI) has appointed Rajeev YSR as its National Spokesperson, strengthening the industry body’s engagement with policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders amid the rapid expansion of India’s electric mobility ecosystem.
Rajeev YSR, who currently serves as a board member of CPOSI and CEO of ThunderPlus, will represent the society at national and state-level platforms. In his new role, he will act as the primary interface with government bodies, media, and industry partners, advocating for the collective interests of charge point operators (CPOs) across issues such as EV policies, investment frameworks, standards, interoperability, grid integration, and the long-term sustainability of charging business models.
Abhinav Sinha, Director at CPOSI, highlighted the formation of a Charger Uptime Task Force to address key challenges in reliability, performance, and operational consistency in India’s EV charging ecosystem.
“Rajeev YSR has been nominated to present the task force’s recommendations, leveraging his decade-long experience across logistics operations, EV entrepreneurship, and policy advisory roles,” Abhinav Sinha, Director at CPOSI said.
He added that YSR’s previous work, including advising the Government of Andhra Pradesh and scaling EV charging networks, made him well-suited for this role.
While charger deployment has accelerated, the EV charging sector continues to face structural hurdles such as fragmented standards, evolving regulations, power infrastructure readiness, and building consumer confidence.
YSR emphasized the need for a collaborative approach across the ecosystem, stating: “Charge Point Operators are central to India’s EV transition. Beyond deploying chargers, the sector must address standards, policy alignment, grid readiness, and consumer trust. Through CPOSI, we aim to facilitate constructive dialogue, promote cooperation, and support a resilient and scalable EV charging network.”
YSR also noted that India’s EV adoption journey is at an early stage, and a unified industry approach will play a decisive role in improving charging accessibility, accelerating EV adoption, and supporting the country’s clean and sustainable mobility objectives.
