Waaree Energies Limited has announced a major leadership change with CEO Amit Paithankar stepping down and Jignesh Rathod named CEO-Designate as part of a planned succession strategy.
In a regulatory filing after its Board meeting held on December 29, 2025, the company said it has accepted the resignation of Amit Paithankar, who serves as Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer, to pursue opportunities outside the organisation. The Board agreed to relieve him effective May 15, 2026, or an earlier mutually agreed date.
Jignesh Rathod, currently Director – Operations, has been appointed CEO-Designate with immediate effect. Rathod will work closely with the outgoing CEO during the transition and will formally assume the role of Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel from May 16, 2026, or earlier as notified.
The Board placed on record its appreciation for Paithankar’s leadership and contributions, noting that under his tenure the company strengthened operational capabilities, expanded its footprint, and laid a strong foundation for long-term growth.
Rathod brings over 18 years of experience within Waaree Energies, having joined the company in 2007. He holds an engineering degree from Gujarat University, an MBA from NMIMS Mumbai, and a Doctorate in Business Administration, and has played an integral role in operations, capacity expansion, and process optimisation.
This leadership transition aims to ensure continuity in strategy and operational stability as Waaree Energies continues its growth trajectory in India’s solar and renewable energy market.
