Zetwerk Secures ARAI Certification, Expands EV Charging Solutions

ZETWERK, the largest global marketplace for contract manufacturing, has achieved a noteworthy milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) industry with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certifying its 60kW and 120kW DC fast chargers. In keeping with the government’s “Make-in-India” campaign, ZETWERK’s endeavor to improve India’s EV infrastructure has reached a significant milestone with this permission.

After a thorough testing process, the Ministry of Heavy Industries’ ARAI approved ZETWERK’s chargers, stating that they fulfill all safety, environmental, and performance requirements. The purpose of these chargers is to provide trustworthy and effective charging options around the country.

The chargers made by ZETWERK are expected to be crucial in growing India’s EV charging infrastructure. The business has already signed agreements to sell chargers to a number of private charge point operators as well as Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). Through this partnership, the number of fast-charging stations will rise, assisting in the mitigation of one of the main obstacles to the broad adoption of EVs—a lack of adequate charging infrastructure.

“This ARAI certification is a key milestone in our effort to reshape India’s EV charging infrastructure,” said Abhay Adya, Business Head – Energy Transition Business at ZETWERK.

ZETWERK had stated earlier this year that it will deploy over 1,400 EV fast chargers throughout India as part of its relationship with IOCL. These chargers will include cutting-edge DC Dual Gun CCS2 DC Charger technology and range in power from 50kW to 120kW. A key component of IOCL’s renewable energy strategy, this project aims to lower transportation’s carbon footprint and promote sustainable mobility options in India.
