ZincFive Wins Multiple Categories in 2025 Power Technology Excellence Awards

ZincFive, a global leader in nickel-zinc (NiZn) battery-based solutions for immediate power applications, has been named a multi-category winner in the 2025 Power Technology Excellence Awards. The independent awards program, powered by GlobalData’s business intelligence, is widely recognized in the industry for honoring companies driving meaningful innovation in the global power sector. ZincFive secured wins in four categories: Innovation, Product Launch, Safety, and Environmental Excellence.

The recognition underscores ZincFive’s ongoing leadership in providing safe, sustainable, high-power solutions for mission-critical infrastructure. With nearly 2 gigawatts of NiZn systems deployed or contracted worldwide, the company is helping operators address the fast, steep demands of AI-driven data centers while enhancing resilience, footprint efficiency, and environmental performance.

ZincFive’s Immediate Power Solutions combine patented NiZn chemistry with intelligent system-level engineering to deliver rapid, millisecond-scale responses to dynamic load swings while maintaining stable operation at elevated temperatures. Its latest product, the BC 2 AI UPS Battery Cabinet, exemplifies this approach by offering both fast-load power support for GPU-intensive AI applications and traditional outage protection in a single cabinet. This reduces the need for redundant layers of power-quality equipment and frees valuable white space for additional compute.

The company’s technology also supports customers’ sustainability objectives through inherently safe chemistry made from abundant, recyclable materials. With lifetime greenhouse gas emissions 25–50% lower than lead-acid or lithium-ion alternatives, NiZn promotes a more responsible, circular approach to power infrastructure.

“This recognition reflects the thoughtful innovation and commitment to safety and sustainability that guide our work,” said Tod Higinbotham, CEO of ZincFive. “Meeting the demands of a rapidly changing infrastructure landscape requires a mindset of continuous improvement, and our team brings that mindset to every advancement we make. These awards affirm that approach and encourage us to keep raising the bar for our customers, our industry, and the planet.”

These accolades add to ZincFive’s growing industry recognition. The company was recently listed on TIME’s 2025 World’s and America’s Top GreenTech Companies lists and also earned the 2024 Edison Award and CleanTech Breakthrough’s 2024 Overall Innovation of the Year, among other honors.
