ACME Solar Crosses 2 GWh BESS Milestone in Rajasthan, Targets 10 GWh by 2027

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has achieved a significant milestone by cumulatively operationalising over 2 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan, positioning itself among the early leaders in large-scale energy storage deployment in India.

The company, which is based in Gurugram, announced that its total operational BESS capacity across its subsidiaries in the state is now 591.18 MW / 2031.24 MWh. This is a big step in the company’s plan to grow its energy storage infrastructure, with the goal of reaching 10 GWh of BESS capacity by 2027.

Strengthening Grid Stability Through Storage

The deployed BESS projects are designed to enhance grid efficiency by:

  • Charging batteries when there isn’t much demand
  • Letting power out during times of high demand

This approach supports better energy management and improves grid reliability, particularly with increasing renewable energy integration.

Portfolio Strength and Growth Pipeline

ACME Solar operates a diversified renewable energy portfolio of 8,071 MW, covering:

  • Solar
  • Wind
  • Hybrid solutions
  • Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE)
  • Energy storage systems

The company currently has a contracted capacity of 2,990 MW and is building more capacity that will bring its total to 5,081 MW, including about 15 GWh of planned BESS installations.

ACME Solar  continues to use its own engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M) skills to carry out projects from start to finish and keep its growing asset base running smoothly.

Market Performance and Investor Outlook

Following the announcement, the company’s shares rose 1.65% to ₹301.15, compared to the previous close of ₹296.25, with an intraday high of ₹304.45. The stock has gained over 22% in the past month and nearly 27% year-to-date, outperforming the Nifty 500, which declined by around 4% during the same period. The company’s market capitalisation currently stands at approximately ₹18,255 crore.

With its growing storage capacity and strong project pipeline, ACME Solar is reinforcing its position as an integrated renewable energy developer. The milestone reflects the company’s commitment to advancing energy storage adoption while supporting India’s transition toward a more reliable and sustainable power ecosystem.
