Adani Power Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) to supply 1,234 MW of net power on an ex-bus basis, corresponding to an installed capacity of 1,320 MW, under a long-term Power Supply Agreement (PSA). The company was declared the successful bidder in the tender issued by UPCL, with the award granted on October 13, 2026.
The award is subject to approval from the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) for tariff adoption under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003. The proposed arrangement is intended to secure a long-term supply of coal-based electricity for Uttarakhand.
In August 2026, the Uttarakhand Cabinet approved a 25-year power procurement agreement between UPCL and Adani Power. Under the arrangement, the company will supply 1,320 MW of installed capacity, with a contracted net supply of 1,234 MW, at a composite tariff of ₹5.746 per unit. Adani Power emerged as the lowest bidder in the procurement process.
The proposed power project will be established in Chhattisgarh, where a coal block has already been allocated. The project is expected to support the contracted supply of electricity to Uttarakhand under the long-term agreement.
The state Cabinet also authorised UPCL to execute the PSA and associated documents, fulfil contractual obligations and obtain the necessary statutory approvals from UERC. The project’s implementation and power supply arrangements remain subject to the applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
