Bajel Projects Wins 700 Crore+ PowerGrid Transmission Orders

Bajel Projects Limited has secured two domestic transmission line contracts from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PowerGrid), with a combined value of ₹700 crore or more, strengthening its order book amid rising investments in India’s power transmission infrastructure.

The contracts have been awarded through PowerGrid’s special purpose vehicle (SPV), WR ER Part A Power Transmission Limited. The first order, classified as a Mega Order by Bajel Projects, is valued between ₹300 crore and ₹400 crore and covers the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 400 kV transmission line.

The project is scheduled to be completed within 27 months from the date of the Notification of Award.

Alongside the 400 kV project, Bajel Projects has also secured an Ultra-Mega Order valued at ₹400 crore and above for the EPC of a 765 kV transmission line. The project has an execution timeline of 33 months.

Both projects are part of the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme, which aims to strengthen India’s high-voltage transmission network and improve cross-regional power transfer capacity.

The latest wins add to Bajel Projects’ growing order pipeline. The company’s outstanding unexecuted order book stood at ₹4,055 crore as of June 30, 2026, marking a 12.3% increase from ₹3,612 crore a year earlier.

The company has also reported an improvement in profitability during the first quarter of FY27. Its standalone profit after tax (PAT) increased 37.2% year-on-year to ₹4.5 crore, compared with ₹3.3 crore in the same quarter last year. However, standalone revenue from operations declined 6.7% year-on-year to ₹566.9 crore.

Bajel Projects’ credit profile also received a boost recently, with CRISIL upgrading its long-term credit rating to CRISIL A+/Stable from CRISIL A/Positive on August 7, 2026.

The new contracts come at a time when India’s transmission infrastructure is being expanded to support growing electricity demand and the integration of large-scale renewable energy projects. High-voltage transmission systems are expected to play an important role in evacuating renewable power from generation hubs to consumption centres.

Bajel Projects has been expanding its presence in the transmission and power infrastructure segment through both domestic and international projects. The company had also secured an international contract worth ₹400 crore or more from Egypt’s EETC in July 2026.

With the latest PowerGrid orders, the company is expected to further strengthen its execution pipeline and presence in India’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure sector.
