BluPine Energy, through its special purpose vehicle Solarcraft Power India 8 Private Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the development of a 150 MW solar power project integrated with a 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh Energy Storage System (ESS) in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project forms a crucial part of SECI’s broader initiative to procure 2,000 MW of renewable energy from ISTS-connected solar power projects combined with advanced energy storage solutions. Aligned with India’s national goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030, this initiative supports the Ministry of Power’s recent mandate for storage-backed renewable energy, aimed at tackling intermittency and ensuring round-the-clock power supply. With this PPA, BluPine Energy is poised to contribute significantly to strengthening India’s grid stability and accelerating its clean energy transition.

“We are deeply committed to powering India’s decarbonization journey through reliable, round-the-clock renewable energy. The PPA with SECI highlights our ability to pivot with agility as India’s renewable powered grids become resilient. Our 150 MW solar project with integrated energy storage in Rajasthan is designed to deliver firm and dispatchable clean power—addressing intermittency and enhancing grid stability. By integrating cutting-edge solar technology with advanced storage solutions, we are not only meeting today’s energy demands but also shaping a sustainable energy future for India,” said Neerav Nanavaty, CEO, BluPine Energy.

The Ministry of Power’s mandate for energy storage integration in February 2025, is specifically designed to resolve intermittency issues and provide critical support during peak demand hours, ensuring grid stability, reliability, and optimal energy utilization.

The project was secured through SPV Solarcraft Power India 8 Private Limited during SECI’s competitive bidding process initiated under RfS No. SECI/C&P/IPP/11/0011/24-25 dated July 31, 2024.

BluPine Energy, established in 2021 by global investor Actis, is a leading renewable energy platform in India. Headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, the company is committed to developing over 4 GW of renewable energy projects, encompassing solar, wind, and energy storage solutions. With a substantial investment of $800 million from Actis’ Energy Fund 5, BluPine Energy focuses on delivering comprehensive, cost-effective, and sustainable low-carbon solutions to a diverse clientele, including state and central utilities, commercial buildings, industries, and communities across India.
