To improve the nation’s EV charging infrastructure, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and eMobility service provider IONAGE have teamed up. According to a statement from the firm, the partnership would make it easier for EV customers to use BPCL electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the nation via the IONAGE network, increasing convenience and accessibility for EV owners nationally.
“Working together with BPCL is consistent with our goal of democratizing the EV charging ecosystem. Establishing a collaboration is essential to gaining electric car owners’ trust and confidence to take their vehicles on longer trips. The goal is to increase consumer trust in the ecosystem by incorporating BPCL’s vast charger network into the IONAGE platform” said IONAGE co-founder and CEO Vimal Kumar.
As of right now, India has 12,146 active public charging stations, with Delhi and Maharashtra having the most with 1,886 and 3,079 stations, respectively. This shows a notable increase of around 640 percent over the previous two years, which is indicative of a market that is growing quickly.
By 2030, thirty percent of cars on the road should be electrified, according to government goals. He stated that the company anticipates a major change in demand, with more installations in residential complexes and small and medium-sized businesses.
