BYD Energy Storage has announced significant progress in its 2025 ESG journey, underlining its growing role in advancing global decarbonization and sustainable energy solutions. The company highlighted key achievements that reflect its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence, as well as its long-term vision for carbon neutrality.
BYD’s ESG performance improved a lot in 2025. Its MSCI ESG rating went up to AA, and its S&P ESG score went up to 60. These improvements are in line with BYD’s bigger goal of making the entire value chain carbon neutral by 2045. This makes it even more of a leader in the field of sustainable energy innovation around the world.
As one of BYD’s three core “Green Dreams,” BYD Energy Storage continues to play a critical role in accelerating the transition to clean energy worldwide. The company’s battery energy storage system (BESS) business has demonstrated strong growth and global impact.
BYD Energy Storage said that its total BESS shipments had reached 135 GWh, which shows that it is becoming more important in the global energy storage market. Also, in 2025, the company reached a big goal by becoming the world’s number one company in global BESS shipments. This made its leadership in the field even stronger.
The company stressed that every megawatt-hour of energy stored directly helps make renewable energy work better and makes the grid more reliable. BYD is helping industries and utilities manage energy demand more effectively while lowering carbon emissions by scaling up its energy storage solutions.
These achievements highlight BYD Energy Storage’s continued commitment to driving innovation, sustainability, and large-scale impact in the global energy transition.
