The second round of Chery’s Global Safety Challenge, which focuses on the “extreme humidity” scenario in its six-dimensional safety rating system (hot, cold, dryness, humidity, high-speed, and rugged terrain), began on June 17 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This thorough examination confirmed the Chery Super Hybrid’s (CSH) “Guardian Battery”‘s resilience to corrosion and moisture. In addition to representatives from 80 major media outlets and industry KOLs, Mr. Christian Andersen, a notary, and Mr. Heri Prabowo, Head of the Sub-Directorate of Motor Vehicle Type Testing, Ministry of Transportation, attended the event to observe the battery’s performance following 53 hours and 51 minutes of continuous saltwater soaking. The battery showed no signs of thermal runaway, zero leakage, or short circuit. The battery passed all technical validations for electrical insulation while maintaining structural integrity. It completed the demanding task with no abnormalities after being fitted in the car. It started correctly the first time and provided steady power during the road test.
The “Guardian Battery” from CSH offers complete battery safety supported by cutting-edge intelligent technologies. It has an IP68-rated waterproof and dustproof certification, an ultra-fast 2ms power cut-off response, an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -35°C to 60°C, and a 24/7 real-time health monitoring system. The TIGGO8 CSH’s high-strength steel underbody shield, which has a tensile strength of 780 MPa, greatly improves the vehicle’s overall safety performance in terms of passive protection.
The large “5+2” seating arrangement and V2L environment of TIGGO8 CSH attracted a lot of attention from attendees. The TIGGO8 CSH offers the whole family a comfortable and joyful travel experience on every trip thanks to its class-leading 1,930L trunk, 36 storage compartments, third-row seats that fold flat at the press of a button, and a potent 3.3 kW V2L system.
Through demanding international safety difficulties, Chery Battery, which is dedicated to safety excellence, consistently advances technical innovation with user-centric engineering, setting benchmarks against industry leaders like Volvo. The Indonesian battery safety test in extremely high humidity, which was the second round of Chery’s worldwide safety challenge, provided additional confirmation of the company’s safety technology. In order to further assess CSH’s safety performance, Chery Battery plans to carry out a thorough underbody scraping test in the Mexican market. This will demonstrate Chery’s dedication to provide safer and more dependable mobility solutions to clients worldwide.
