Chinese battery manufacturing giant Eve Energy has signed a landmark agreement with Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), marking a major shift in the South Asian renewable energy sector. This strategic collaboration officially kicks off with an initial order for 8 GWh of energy storage system batteries, marking a pivotal breakthrough for Eve Energy as it establishes a long-term footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets.
The partnership is built on a foundation of mutual trust and a shared vision for a sustainable future. Under an ambitious five-year development roadmap, the two companies anticipate that the scale of their cooperation could reach a massive 60 GWh. This long-term plan is designed to meet the historic opportunity currently unfolding in India, where the rapid large-scale development of the energy storage industry is becoming essential for national energy security.
As renewable energy takes up a larger share of India’s power mix, the local grid faces increasing pressure regarding system stability and frequency regulation. To address these technical challenges, the partnership will deploy Eve Energy’s advanced 628-Ah energy storage batteries. These cutting-edge products are characterised by their high safety standards and minimalist integration, features that significantly reduce the total life-cycle cost of energy projects. By aligning with the Indian market’s demand for efficient and sustainable solutions, these batteries are expected to drastically improve the operational performance of local power stations.
By integrating their respective resources and deep industry advantages, Eve Energy and GNEPL are committed to accelerating the implementation of critical energy storage projects across the country. This collaboration is set to play a vital role in promoting a low-carbon transition for the local energy structure. Eve Energy arrives at this partnership with significant global momentum, having recorded an installed battery volume of 3.11 GWh in China during April alone, further solidifying its position as a world leader in battery technology and innovation.
